Quality Assurance

The quality control process at Allied Engineering and Testing begins by assigning experienced, technically trained and certified staff to each project. The staff members are fully briefed about the project requirements before beginning the work. Daily progress reports, test results and final reports are reviewed by the project manager and a registered professional engineer.

The equipment and procedures used in our testing are routinely calibrated at predetermined intervals, usually more frequently than required by ASTM Specifications. Calibration standards/equipment are traceable to the National Bureau of Standards.

Our laboratory facilities are fully equipped to complete all routine testing required for your projects. Allied Engineering and Testing's laboratory has been inspected by the Concrete Materials Engineering Council (CMEC) and was deemed to conform to ASTM C 1077 specifications, "Practice for Laboratories Testing Concrete and Concrete Aggregates for Use in Construction and Criteria for Laboratory Evaluation". Our concrete testing facility includes an isolated constant humidity, temperature controlled cure room with capacity to store 1000 6" x 12" concrete test cylinders. The temperature is monitored 24 hours a day with a Taylor Weather-Hawk recording thermometer and the relative humidity is maintained at 100% with a Walton Humidifier. Our compression testing machine is equipped with a calibrated dual range system so that low strength and normal strength concrete and other cementitious materials may be tested.

FDOT Inspected and Approved Laboratory

Our laboratory facilities have also been "inspected in-depth" by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This IID procedure is more rigorous than the CMEC inspection and is required by the FDOT prior to performing Quality Control or Acceptance testing. During the last IID inspection, Allied Engineering and Testing was awarded with a perfect score of 100, with no deficiencies. Allied Engineering and Testing is proud of this accomplishment and is pleased that our commitment to quality is recognized by the FDOT.
